BIO
Hailing from the sun-soaked sprawl of Orange County, California comes Project 86 and their debut Atlantic
album, DRAWING BLACK LINES. Drawing energy from early NYC hardcore and hip-hop, the quartet has crafted an explosive
and utterly modern rock sound centered around rhythm, riffs, and raw rock vocals. Paired with producer GGGarth (Rage Against
The Machine, The Melvins, Sick of it All) and programming guru Foo (Marilyn Manson, Orgy), the band bounds from the dynamic,
unrelenting "Stein's Theme" to such diverse tracks as the haunting "P.S.," the old school hardcore-styled "Set Me Up," and
the hook-filled "Sad Machines." Infused with urgent analysis and heartfelt pleas, DRAWING BLACK LINES brings overarching positive
themes to tracks filled with remarkable passion and power.
The band's independently released 1998 self-titled debut earned
extensive critical praise and even landed Project 86 on the CMJ airplay chart. Nationwide touring and select festival appearances
(Illinois's Cornerstone included) staged throughout 1999 helped further solidify the band's already loyal grass roots following.
Stepping forward from that early success, Project 86 stand poised to project themselves even further into the consciousness
of rock fans everywhere.
